GALLAHER/GALLAGHER/GOLLIHER-early Salem
Posted by: Sheila Snyder (ID *****6419) Date: February 11, 2007 at 19:42:43

Hello-I am researching the Gallaher/Gallagher (all spelling variations)families that lived near Alloways Creek in Salem Co. in the late 1790's through the early 1800's. I am looking for early deeds, wills, marraiges, deaths/cemetery, etc. that would help me to find my Gallaher ancestors. I note that there was an early Charles Gallaher family that was there in the middle 1770's that lived in the area and so far I have not been able to find info on him. I suspect that my ancestor was tied into him. I am wondering if anyone has info on him-his wife, children, where buried, etc. My ancestor Eliza _____ m. a Gallaher and came to Mercer Co., OH where they had at least 2 children, Zoah Ann and Mary Jane. My first name unknown Gallaher, died before the middle 1830's and she remarried. A Sarah Gallaher, who probably was a sister to my unknown Gallaher m. William Hanzor 20 Jan 1807 in Salem Co. and also came to Mercer Co. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Sheila Snyder
