Some Births in Pittsgrove Township (Salem County) 1848 to 1878, as transcribed by Dolores Langley Solberg (Dol_sol@hotmail.com)

At Pittsgrove Township Administration Building, visitors may browse a book of births, deaths and marriages from 1848 to 1878. They lost the records from 1879 to 1921, but they do have records from 1921 to present. It is open weekdays from 9 to 5, and no search fee is charged. They will not allow photocopies from the old book, so be prepared to carefully copy what you need.

* Pittstown is a former name of the town of Elmer.

The above includes only names of interest to me (or for which someone I knew was looking). There were additional Kandle, Dunham, Christy, and Bloodgood, plus many other surnames. The modern stats (since 1921) did not interest me.

Perhaps you can go there, and add to this list. The Admin. building is conveniently near Olivet cemetery, which I prowled after the building closed. -- Dolores
