This is what I have on a William Robert Harrison (born about 1828) who married Margaret, last name unknown and their children, John Harrison, Edward Harrison, Kate Harrison, and Maggie Harrison. Seeking any information on this family.
William was the son of Arthur Noble Harrison and Jane Phillips. I do not think they are related to Harrisons in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey because William Robert Harrison's father was from Ireland and came over in or before 1828 [index has 1808 which is wrong and actual deed has on it 1828 which is right], buying land in Argyle, New York, then [owning] and running a porter house and hotel in New York City at 5 Mott Street. Arthur Noble Harrison was also a clerk, recording his son Richard's naturalization paper.
William Robert Harrison and Margaret __ lived in New York City, then New Jersey. See how he goes by Wm R. in the census?
1850 federal census for New York ward 7, NY, NY
Wm R. Harrison 22 born NY clerk
Margt Hansen 19 born NY
Edward McKenzie family of Scotland
Between 1852 and 1856 William R. Harrison and family moved from New York state to New Jersey. (1860 census, the ages and birth places of William's children indicate a move.)
1860 federal census for Hoboken Ward 2, Hudson County, New York
William R. Harrison 32, city clerk, $500 personal property, born New York
Margaret Harrison 26, born New York
John Harrison, 11, born New York
Edward 8, born New York
Rute 4, born New Jersey [should be Kate]
Maggie 8/12, born New Jersey
I had John Harrison, Edward Harrison, Kate Harrison, and Margaret Harrison as the names of children. (Greenwood Cemetery.) The family would hae been in Hoboken from 1852/1856 through 1867.
William Robert Harrison died, maybe in 1867.
Can you tell me anything about what happened to his wife and children after 1867? What happened to Mrs. Margaret Harrison, John, Edward, Kate, or Margaret Harrison after 1867? Thank you.
