Thank you so much. I have shared your last email with a descendant of Michael Pearce, son of John and Marta Pearce of Essex Co., NJ, Michael a soldier in the Rev. He is a descendant of one of Michael's daughters, Sarah. Another of Michael's many daughters was Rachel Pearce, the wife of Rev. Stephen Gard.
I have Daniel and Charity having nine children born from 1769 to to 1787, in the following order: Josephus, Gershom, Joseph II (maybe this Daniel's father was a Joseph), Rev. Stephen, Elizabeth, Sally, Daniel, Phebe, and Charity. The only two I have info on are Rev. Stephen and Sally who brings in the Squier (David) family at the Rev. War generation into this family. I would like to know what you have on Gershom. I believe somewhere back in time that my Pearce family is related to Michael's father; that is why I am working with the other researcher. I have been doing this 12 years but waited until someone from that family contacted me and gave me personal information before I expaned my tree to include the inlaws of Michael's children. I do have a connection to one of Michael's daughter's who married one of my 3g grandfathers (Alexander Vanpelt) after my 3g grandmother (Elizabeth Corwin Vanpelt) died in Warren Co., OH. They migrated to Shelby Co., IN. But my Pearces were in the surrounding area with Michael's so it is just a matter of time.
I have read a fair amount on the prominent inlaws of Michael Pearce's family; he founded Trenton, Butler Co., OH; some of his descendants ended in Preble Co., OH as well.
And then one of my grandfather Pearce's sisters married into the Lee family in Decatur Co., IN and a sister or daughter-in-law was an active geneologist in the Lee family who evidently spent a long while trying to prove that family was related to one "Gershom Lee" of NJ, evidently someone that was highly regarded historically. I have come across the "Gershom" name as a first name in a few families, so I can see it was treated with some importance.
Yes, I would like to know about the Gards. I have suggested to the family researcher that he read the string on the Genforum site between us to come up to date. In fact, I would not mind ordering your bio from Interlibrary Loan if it is available that way.
