I am trying to find more information about Rinear/Rynier Blanchard who married Marritje Cadmus, daughter of Isaac Cadmus and Sara Kip. Their children were (all were baptised in Acquacknock):
1. Sarah b. 6 Jan 1772
2. Maria b. 21 Oct 1774 married William Campbell 14 Dec 1793 Schraalenburg
3. Antje married John Stagg 7 May 1797 in Acquacknock
4. Susanna b. 29 Apr 1781 m. Isaac P. Vanderbeek in Schraalenburg
5. Isaac b. 21 Sep 1788
Rynier served in the Revolutionary War as a First Lieut. He resigned on September 13, 1776. Rynier appears in the tax list for Saddle River, Bergen County, from 1778 to 1796.
Antje Blanchard, who married John Stagg, removed to Vernon, Sussex Co., NJ and had a large family.
William Campbell and Maria Blanchard's descandants also lived in the Vernon area.
The reason why I'm interested in this family is because I believe Rynier and Marritje (Cadmus) Blanchard were the parents of my ancestor, Aaron Blanchard, who was born in 1767. Family history state that Aaron's father (name not mentioned) served in the REvolutionary War and fought in the Battle of Springfield. Aaron lived in Vernon and Wantage Townships near Antje and Maria's families. He died in 1859 in Jefferson Twp., Morris County.
Aaron's first wife's name is unknown and by her, Aaron had two children: Martin H. (my ancestor) and Mary. Aaron married again to Jane Poulison on January 11, 1796 in Sussex Co., NJ. Aaron and Jane had a number of children.
Does anyone have any more information about Rynier and Aaron? Wills, cemetery records, marriage records, birth records, anything?
I suspect that Rynier MAY have been a son of John Blanchard Jr. and Mary (Joline?) who lived in Sprinfield and Elizabethtown, Essex Co., NJ. John's parents were Jean Blanchard and Susanne Rezeau.
Thanks in advance for any help!
