PEW, WHITE, BOWMAN, & MOUNT - Monmouth County NJ
Posted by: Louise Disano (ID *****9076) Date: July 15, 2003 at 11:41:10

Am looking for a connection between Susannah PEW, Elinor WHITE and Mary BOWMAN. Bowman was listed as a servant. Information came from Dutch Church Records, Monmouth Co. NJ, 1736. Info as follows:

"Richard MOUNT was appointed by church (Middletown Baptist Church) to visit Susannah PEW to know reason for entertaining Elinor WHITE, prisoner under sentence of death and Mary BOWMAN, servant, not known by her husband."

I descend from the PEW family and would really like to know what Elinor WHITE and Mary BOWMAN had to do with the family and why the church sent a representative to question Susannah. Any information would be appreciated.
Louise
