The information I have on Simon Anderson and wife, Mary caomes largely from a family bible which is in the NJ Historical Society in Newark, NJ. Additonally, the following:

Genealogical Dictionary of New Jersey, by Charles Carroll Gardner

488. George Anderson, son of George, b. abt. 1727-32, prob. in Franklin tp,; d. betw. Aug, 1, 1790 and Jan. 15, 1791; md. by license of Nov. 22, 1748, to Mettie (Mattje) Van Wickle, dau. of Simon and Dinah Van Wickle. He and his wife were apparently both under age at marriage, as consents of both fathers are filed with the marriage bond. They evidently lived on his fathers farm a few miles from New Brunswick, and he joined the N.B. church in 1753, but the baptism of only one child is recorded there. (NJMBA:33; NJA 32:340; Steele's Hist. Discourse, p. 210; NJHSP NS11:557.) His will, August 1, 1790 - Jan.15, 1791, names 3 chn. and 4 gr. chn. He left his home farm to son Simon (NJW:875R.)

Anderson, George 33.16. 0
I believe this lineage had its American roots in New Amsterdam (New York) and then migrated to NJ where, as far as I know, they never left.
Monmouth County
