Hello I have just been surfing the net and found this local message board, I am from Monmouth in Wales and I am very interested in how you got the name Monmouth, eg.. who was the founder exc....... monmouth is a only a small town now even though a very important town in old, with famous people like henry the v being a monmouthian and also Charles Rolls of Rolls Royce, and also Geoffrey of Monmouth who was the main man behind the Arthurian tales being Arthur was really a Welsh man and not a English man like one might think being that he was actually fighting against the Saxons might be a clue, we have also pround honours on the military side as well with men who won Victoria crosses at Rourkes drift superbly defined in the film Zulu where 100 mostly sick soldiers in hospital fought off 5000 zulu warriors.. Monmouth has only around 8000 inhabitants but is even though small steeped in glory and pride, so if you caould let me no.
Thank you
Wayne
