ace, Thank you for your family info. I will keep a copy in my notebook in case I find a connection later on. George, born Mar 26, 1797 in Monmouth Co, died Dec 27, 1861 married Jedidah Newman on 22 Feb 1817. She was born Jul 28, 1800 in Monmouth Co NJ, died Nov 1851 in Monmouth and was buried in Sparta, Morrow Co, OH. Joseph B Morris was born Feb 3, 1818 in Monmouth Co, died Oct 22, 1886, Osborne Co KS. He married Anne Maria Hoyt abt 1845 in Hancock Co OH. Joseph's brother, Uriah Totten Morris, was born in Monmouth Co on Jan 10, 1826 and died May 20, 1900 in Eaton Co, MI. I located Uriah on the 1850 census for Morrow County OH. His wife was named Sarah and his son was George, age 1. There were 44 Morrises in Morrow County in 1850. I suspect many of them were family members related to George and Jedidah Morris. Your Joseph born in 1797 has similarities to my George born the same year. Your Joseph married a Newman. My George married a Newman (sisters, maybe?)
Let me know if you make any more discoveries.
