I am also researching the Gifford family with a connection to the Allen family several people have suggested I try Monmouth Co. Elisha Gifford b before 1760 in N. J. per census records. Died in Mason Co. Kentucky 1816 per Will. Married unknown. Son Joshua Gifford b Dec 1784 in N. J. d 1861 Pendleton Co. Ky. Married 15 Aug 1812 in Adams Co. Ohio Elenor Allen dau of Barnabas & Mary Allen. Barnarbas was supposed to have been in the Revolutionary War. I believe these people traveled from N. J. through Pa. into Ohio then on to Kentucky. I have Elisha Gifford in Mason Co. Ky. as early as 1794. I have never had much success tracing him back to N. J. or finding is 1st wife the Mother of Joshua. I have even less information on the Allen line. Does any of your research have any of these people in it. I have lot more on the Gifford family after the 1800, most of which is in Kentucky and a few bordering Co.ís in Ohio and Indiana
