I need information James Madison Bedle, Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale

James Madison Bedle is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. He has a tombstone which reads "James M. Bedle" that seems to be almost illegible.

I need whatever information that may have been transcribed from his stone and any other information about this man that is known to exist.

He was quite a colorful character up until the time he was murdered in Maryland sometime in the 1870's.
