Hello all,

I am searching to confirm inf. I received from a cousin that John VanKirk (b. ca 1745 & died ca 1794 in Freehold, N.J.) married Anne Gordon on Sept. 25th, 1765.

They had a son, James VanKirk born March 20, 1780-81 in Sidney, Monmouth Co., N.J. who died in Knowlton, Warren Co., N.J. in 1833 & is buried in the Presbyterian Churchyard. He married Mary Jones in Nov. 1800 in Hunderton/Hunterdon, New Jersey.

Here is the inf.:

Per our family's records of 1931 family Bibles were seen & this inf. was recorded for a DAR deposition:
"John VanKirk - Born Freehold, N.J. - about 1745 and Died about 1794 -

Married Anna Gordon - Freehold, N.J. - September 27-1765 -
She Born 1747 - Died about 1794 - Died in Monmouth County"

I have more inf. she provided in her 1931 deposition.

Here is the LDS site inf. which I have found in the past to be inaccurate, but this a 15 year discrepancy (not uncommon):

Anne Gordon
Female Family
Parents:
Father: Andrew Gordon
Family
Marriages:
Spouse: John Van Kirk
Family
License: 27 SEP 1750 Perth Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey --
Does nayone know these families & confirm this inf.?

I am willing to share all inf. on the VanKirk family from 1800 to present.

Sincerely,
Marilyn LeVeque
