1 - 1900 census - Alfred is listed as age 4, not 3; I can't make out the month of birth due to the poor handwriting. However, Alfred is in Tx in 1930 & SS Death Index indicates his birth was June 1897:
Alfred Newman, b. 24 Jun 1897, d. Nov 1959; ss#458-01-0373 issued Tx before 1951
2 - Floretta Newman cannot have died in 1910 (per Evergreen Cemetery headstone) because she is listed in both 1920 & 1930 census reports.
1920 census for Wall Twp, Monmouth Co, NJ, ED #150, sht 25A, pg 255 (taken 2 Apri l1920): Charles H. Newman, 30? b. NJ, married, parents b. NJ, laborer grist mill; Floretta, 30? b. NJ, wife, parents b. NJ; Lovinia? M?, 9 b. NJ, daughter, parents b. NJ.
1930 census for Wall Twp, Monmouth Co, NJ, ED #151, sht 13A, pg 223 (taken 30 April 1930): Charles W? Newman, 40 b. NJ, married at age 19, parents b. NJ, mill worker feed mill; Floretta M, 40 b. NJ, wife, married at age 19, parents b. NJ; Maude L, 19 b. NJ, daughter, single, parents b. NJ.
3 - 1900 census for Calvin & Joanna Newman. On previous sht are Joanna's parents, and her grandmother Dorothea Stokey.
4 - Joanna & son Alfred in Tx in 1930:
1930 census for Wink City, Winkler Co, Tx, ED #2, sht 1A, pg 199 (taken 2 April 1930): Alfred V. Newman, 34 b. NJ, married at age 19, father b. NJ, mother b.
