Hi, if you look at this cemetery transcription of the First Dutch Reformed Church in Holmdel
http://distantcousin.com/Cemetery/NJ/Monmouth/OldHolmdelYard/

It says that Charles M Smith is the son of Peter and Cornelia Ann Smith. No dates are given, but he is not in the 1850 Census (Middletown, Monmouth Co, NJ) with Peter and Cornelia.
