Elijah South Revolutionary soldier (1753-1836)

I am descended from Elijah South, the Revolutionary War soldier from Middlesex Co., NJ.:
Elijah South (1753 - 1836) Middlesex Co., NJ / Greene Co., PA
Joseph South (1803 - 1866) Greene Co., PA / Henry County, IL
John L. South (1844 - 1924) Greene Co., PA / Rock Island Co., IL
Harry P. South (1887 - 1950) Rock Island Co., IL
Chester P. South (1914 - 1980) Rock Island Co., IL (my father)

I am looking for is the parentage of Elijah South. I am pretty sure that his father's name is Joseph.
I have sent for the will of a Joseph (1719 - 1812) but have also seen in a book on
"First Families of America" that Elijah's father, Joseph, died in 1760. (Confusion here)
I am trying to find out if I might be descended from the Joseph South/Thomas and Dorothy Lippington family.
Either way, I am still very interested in Elijah's parentage.

I would also love to hear from anyone out there who is descended from (at any point) the lineage that I listed above. I have a lot of info on the Rock Island Souths
and would be happy to share this info.

Thank you!! Dee Henderson
