Dr. Jonathan D. Marvin (1789-1872) - Cemetery in Morristown, New Jersey
At http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~njmorris/towns/morrisplain..http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~njmorris/towns/morrisplain...
there are transcriptions from Julia Beers. Notes on "A History of Early Morris Plain" written about 1929.
Several relate to Dr. Jonathan D. Marvin (1789-1872).
He came to Morris Plain area about 1830 and purchased Puff's Tavern and lived there with his family. For over forty years he was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Morristown.
"Dr. Marvin's house is now (1929) the property of Mr. John H. Nunn, Jr. The house is probably two hundred years old. There was a graveyard on this place as old as the house."
I am interested in the burials in this graveyard on Dr. Marvin's homestead; does any one have a listing? What is it called and is it still in existence?
Am also looking for the cemetery where Dr. Marvin and members of his family are buried; may be First Presbyterian Church of Morristown.
Any information to help answer these questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
