Alexander ANNEN/ANNIN b NJ
I am searching for the parents of Alexander Annin who was born in NJ on 23 Jan 1819 , NJ - county unk.He married Ellen Burns on 11 Aug 1846 in Elizabeth, Essex Co NJ.License stated they were both residents of Rahway,Union Co, NJ.
This Alexander Annin died 1 Apr 1854, age 35 yrs, 2 mo, 9 days according to the cemetery records. He is buried in the Green - Wood Cem in Brookly, Kings Co NY.(There was another Alexander Annin who died 31 March, 1854 in Manhattan, NY. This one was b 1799 NJ at age 55)
The 1850 census for St Louis, MO shows Alexander Annin was a saddler, age 32 b NJ.Census taken at his place of employment. His wife, Ellen and 2 sons were listed in the home of Jacob and Mary Anbbergan along with a Hugh Byrns.I believe that Mary and Hugh were siblings of Ellen Burns Annin.
The 2 sons listed on the 1850 census in St Louis, MO were Alexander B. Annin age 3 b NJ and Cornelius Annin infant b MO.Apparently Cornelius died as there is not other record of him.Alexander B Annin told his family that after his father died his mother and he resided in NJ and NY.When he was about 18 she took him to stay with family in Illinois. He was listed as a laborer on the 1870 LaSalle Co, IL census residing in the home of his future inlaws, thus no clue as to who the IL relatives might have been.
There were numerous men in NJ records named Alexander Annin.
I believe the above Alexander Annin b 23 Jan, 1819 must have been a son or grandson of one of them. Please post any hints you have on who his parents may have been.
Thanks, Bettye
