Amos Stackhouse was a veteran of the American Revolution and thus earn 100 acres of land in the U. S. Military District of Ohio on Febuary 2, 1811 in Linton Township, Coshocton County, OH. He claimed to have served during the Revolution from New Jersey. Apparently he was a wanderer which showed up in Morgan, Athens, Belmont, and Guernsey Counties in Ohio.
According to his Hocking County, OH, will, he died in 1844.
Does anyone know where he, his wife, and children were buried?
On March 14, 1840, he applied for a marriage license in Athens County, OH, to marry my g. g. grandmother, Artemesia Preston Ford, widowed. There is no record of a "marriage". Maybe she died before they were married as I can't find a burial site for her.
