Recent results obtained from Family Tree DNA testing have proven that there is absolutely no possibility that James McKinney 1750-1825 of Surry County, North Carolina was related in any way to Mordecai McKinney 1684-1759 of New Jersey. All those researching the New Jersey lineage of Mordecai McKinney might like to erase James McKinney of North Carolina as a descendant.
