Hi Betseylee, How are you? I am not related to your lineage however I have some suggestions for your research. First, the IGI has many mistakes in it. Not all is bad; not all is good. This is from my experience but also I discovered this when I worked with non-LDS professional genealogists. Take in the IGI information as a guide only. For cities and towns in Germany, the best way to try to find out the original town (and the correct spelling) is to use the following: ShtetlSeeker – Town Search: http://www.jewishgen.org/Communities/LocTown.asp Possibilities: Wachenheim Wasungen Wechingen Weisingen Weißingen Wessingen Wissingen Wössingen Wössingen ... and there were others. Many people who transcribe passenger lists use that wonderful website when trying to figure out the handwriting or misspellings of town names in Germany. What was heard and what was spelled were two different matters in many cases. Old German dictionaries and old German principality/territory maps are also useful in finding town names which may no longer exist. GeoGen - surname mapping http://christoph.stoepel.net/geogen/en/Default.aspx GedBas: Die genealogische Datenbasis ~ http://gedbas.genealogy.net/ Enter surname in the "Nachname" field; key in partial or full surname. You may find a contact. GeneaNet: http://www.geneanet.org/ GeneaNet is a family history website from France (for free). I have used it for my French Alsatian research. Anyhow, over the years I have noticed so many people use it more and more to enter their family history from around the world. Perhaps you may find a connection there. Best of luck!
