JAMES and SAYRE FAMILIES, NJ to PA
Posted by: Cathy Baker Date: February 27, 1999 at 18:04:13

Have been looking for the families of EDWARD VICTOR JAMES who I found in the 1795 Tax Records of Gloucester Co., NJ. He later moved to Cambria Co., PA and was responsible for laying out the cities of Munster and Ebensburg. I have him married to Mary Rachel ATLEE, daughter of William Augustus ATLEE of Rev. War., who married Ester Bowes SAYRE.
Also looking for the families of JOHN SAYRE who married Rachel Bows/Bowes. Their daughter is Ester BOWES SAYRE.
So both these families tie into the ATLEE family of PA, but both were in NJ to begin with. Have lots of ATLEE info, but these other two families are remaining block walls.
Any help appreciated.
