I am a 3G granddaughter of Jackson Margerum and Sarah Hendrickson (or Henderson) through their daughter Mary Louise and her husband George W Heller.

Most of my original Margerum information came from my grandmother and from some pages in The Margerums of Bucks County. I got interested in the Margerums because of DAR. William Margerum – the father of Enos – is a recognized Revolutionary War Patriot and I wanted to add him as one of my ancestors. I did find Jackson’s parents listed on his second marriage certificate (to Amelia Meadows) and was able to use this as proof for the DAR supplemental. Somewhere in all the information I went through I got the impression that the father of Maria - Stephen Scales - was fairly prominent in New Jersey at one time but could never find any specifics on him.

I would love to have copies of the letters and will be happy to pay for any related costs. I don't know if I have anything specifically about Stephen in my Margerum information or not. Timothy Webster, the spy, is somewhat of a local hero in Onarga and I think he was a nephew to Stephen and Maria Margerum. He, along with his father and his son are buried here but Stephen and Maria are not.
