Apparently another of your Cubberly ancestors, William Cubberly was in the mortgage note business in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. On July 31, 1766 an edition of the Pennsylvania Gazette reflects a sheriff's sale was ordered on a house and 220 acre plantation, south of Ringes owned by my 8 times great grandfather, Henry Ringo on a suit filed by William Cubberly and John Barbarie, who were holders of numerous notes in Hunterdon County. The sale did not take place due to a want of a buyer. Another sale was scheduled for Sept 8, 1767. The buyer was my uncle, John Ringo, the Tavern Keeper in Ringoes, NJ.
