Thanks for information about will of Jane Dey. Do you know where the will is located or where I may get a copy? Who is your fellow researcher?
I believe the report that Mary Dye was from Clermont Co., Ohio when she married William McChesney is incorrect. Some sources say that the children of William & Mary McChesney were born in Trenton, N.J. I do not know where this information comes from but David Chambers, William and Elenor McChesney were baptized in the Old Tennent Church in Tennent, N.J. This information is documented in the book "History of The Old Tennent Church" compiled by Rev. Frank Symes published in 1904. This book compiles the existing records of the Old Tennent Church. I have found no other significant information relating to William McChesney’s children in this book.
I have the following data concerning William McChesney and Mary Dye McChesney & their children from the indicated sources:
William McChesney born July 10, 1768 in Tennent, N.J., Source #2
He married Mary Dye abt. 1792, Source #2, and died abt. July 1839 in Clermont Co., Ohio, no source
Mary Dye was born abt. 1790, no source, died aft. July 19, 1819 in Ohio, Source #2
Their Children were:
Eliza McChesney, Source #3, Married Nathaniel Hubble August 6, 1818, Source #3
Samuel McChesney, Source #1, born abt. 1793 in Trenton, N.J., Source #1
Mary McChesney, Source #1 & #4, born May 22, 1793 in Trenton, N.J., Source #4
David Chambers McChesney, Source #1, #5, #8, born 1795 in Trenton, N.J., Source # 5 & #6, baptized May 20, 1798 in Old Tennent Church, Source #5, died August 24, 1839 in Frankfort, KY, Source #6, married Anna Wise Webster abt. 1815, Source #6
William McChesney, Sources #1 & #5, born bef. May 20, 1798, Source #5, baptized May 20, 1798 in Old Tennent Church, Source #5, born in Trenton, N.J., Source #1
Elenor McChesney, Source #1, #5, #7, born August 9, 1799 in Monmouth Co., J.J., Source #7, baptized April 13, 1800 in Old Tennent Church, Source #5, Died Sept. 23, 1869 in Elenor, Ohio, Source #7, Married Nathaniel Poland Dec. 26, 1817 in Cincinatti, Ohio, Source #7
John McChesney, Source #1, born March 29, 1804 in Trenton N.J., Source #1

Elenor McChesney’s parents moved to Cincinatti, Ohio in 1812 (reported by William Slone, grandson of Elenor, in 1962)
I believe many of the sources below are suspect and would like to know the source that states all of the children were born in Trenton, N.J.
