If the Hetherington Nixon in this posting was a printer/lithographer, he is the father of my paternal grandfather, Percy Mitchell, b. June 28, 1890, d. March 15, 1973 in Sarnia, ON, Canada, whose mother was Mary Abney Mitchell, b. 1868.Hetherington paid for Percy to be boarded with a Mrs. Clint from age six months to five years after which for some reason, support stopped.Thereafter, Percy stayed with Mrs. Clint's widowed daughter, Mrs. Jane Mason, without charge and later for a time with his mother's new family; she had married a farrier Edward Potts after Percy's birth. This proved to be unworkable and in 1901 Percy was admitted to Bernardo's in London where he stayed until 1906 when he was placed to a farm in Ontario, Canada as a farm labourer. In time, he farmed on his own for a number of years and later became a certified stationary engineer and a pipe fitter as well as a Christian. He had one child, my father, Joseph Lyle Mitchell, b. 1922, d. 2011, who had five children, Bev, Richard, Susan, Jim and Doug, all alive at this time. Our family would be very interested in any information about Hetherington Nixon and his descendants and would be happy to communicate with any of them.
