Genealogy researching my 5th.-Great-Grandfather-WILLIAM NIXON born;Ca. 1730 in Pennsylvania and died in Washington County,Ohio in 1841, who was the son of my 6th.-Great-Grandfather-GEORGE NIXON born Ca. 1730 in Northern Ireland and died in Hopewell Twp. Bedford County,Pennsylvania on Feb. 13 1806-(09) . Found both of them listed as GEORGE "NICKSON" and WILLIAM "NICKSON" living in the 1790 U.S.Census in Hopewell Twp.Ft.Bedford (Bedford County,Pennsylvania). William married my 5th.-Great-Grandmother-MARY (PETTIT) NIXON in the late 1700's in Pennsylvania. and my 6th.-Great-Grandfather-GEORGE NIXON married my 6th.-Great-Grandmother-REBECCA (WOODS) NIXON in Northern Ireland?, or in Pennsylvania in the mid 1700's Mary (Pettit) Nixon's parents was JAMES PETTIT,II and MARTHA (McCUNE) PETTIT who lived in Pennsylvania also.Also found in the 1790 U.S.Census Rebecca's family (her father) GEORGE WOODS,Sr.living in Bedford County,Pennsylvania.Would appreciate any information on the NIXON-WOODS-PETTIT-McCUNE families.
