Regarding Nixon bible up for auction on eBay.
I found out about it right after the auction finished, so I asked the seller if she might transcribe the family
records listed in the bible. She graciously agreed!
The purpose for her recent auctions is to help support a neighbor family whose son is having a bone marrow transplant. If you find the information below helpful, maybe you could make a small donation to Trevor's Fund at the site she lists.
Thanks and hope this helps someone out with their Nixon research!

Hi --
Below is the information that was hand written into the bible. The bible turned out to be too big for my scanner and penmanship too light to record with a digital camera.
So here it is in typed format. I also found a couple of Obits tucked away in the bible and have included them at the end of the email.
If you find the infomation useful, please consider a donation to Trevors Fund, he just had a bone marrow transplant. More information can be found at:

Hope it helps.

Obits from the bible:
Mrs. James A. Osborn (Mary Ann Nixon)
The funeral of Mrs. James A. Osborn was held at the Presbyterian church at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon May 8.Mrs. Osborn's maiden name was Mary Anne Nixon. She was born in County Down, Ireland March 26th 1839. When 10 years old she came to New York and 4 years later came to Westfield. She was married to Jas. A. Osborn October
28, 1857. Six children blessed their union. 2 have died and 4 were at her bedside when she died. Eleven grandchildren and 11 great grand children survive.
She was in her usual health up to Friday when she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never recovered but quietly pass away at eight a.m. Sunday May 6.
Mrs. Osborn was well known to Oxford people having spent much of her life in this community. She was a faithful member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church of which her husband was an elder for many years. Rev. J.S. Wilson of
Merrill, an old friend of the family, had charge of the service.
Miss Jennie May Nixon
Died, at Salem, Oregon, Feb. 24, 1900 Jennie May Nixon, age 28 yrs. 6 mos. and 15 days.
Miss Nixon was the daughter of Wm. Nixon, one of the pioneer settlers of White Rock, and as a girl she was obedient to her parents, lovable to her associates and an earnest Christian worker. She was an accomplished girl having graduated from the Baptist University at Ottawa and was converted to the Christian faith while attending the same.
She was afflicted with the dread disease, consumption, and went to Oregon
a short time ago in hope to find relief but the Death Angel claimed his victim and a bright, promising girl was summoned to rest. To her companions and associates she shown as a beacon light and the future was full of the
brightest prospects.
She has gone from us, gone to meet her mother and sisters in the home made by hands, eternal in the heavens, where pain and death never comes nor sorrow casts a shadow; but while we live her good works, kind deeds shall ever be remembered. And now that her work on earth is done, sweet
recollections of her pleasant smile and friendly greeting will always remain with us, and we can truly say that "she has not lived in vain."
The remains were brought to this place for enterment and were gently laid to rest in the Fairway cemetery by sorrowing friends, Friday, March 2, Rev. Hough of the Baptist Church conducting the services. The floral tributes
were very pretty and artistic. Her classmates of both the Baptist University Of Ottawa and the State University at Lawrence each sent an elegant floral offering of beautiful design, thereby showing their love and respect for their departed classmate.
We extend our deepest and sincerest sympathy to the bereaved father, brother , sister and affianced who have met this misfortune and which we must all encounter while traveling through this vale of tears, for sooner or
later we will all reach that bourne from whence travelers never return.
Mrs. Minnie Blanchard Boden & Mrs. Mary Owen
Minnie Blachard Boden was born in Delaware Co. New York, Jan 12th 1849, and died near Superior, Nebraska, March 30th, 1891, being 42 years 3 months and 18 days.
She was married to Henry C. Boden August 14th, 1868, to whom she bore seven children, of which one passed on before to the better land.
They came west about twenty years ago and settled on the homestead where the family now resides. Though all the trials and difficulties incident to frontier life she stood nobly by her husband in the struggle for a home. She was baptized into the fellowship, of the White Rock Baptist Church by Rev. M. Howard (now of blessed memory), and lived a life consistent with her profession. A firm believer in Jesus, herself, she went in Jesus name where duty called, and her strength allowed visiting the sick and ministering to the needy.
She was confined to her bed about the middle of September last, and although her affliction was long and trying, she bore it with much patience and resignation. During her illness she remarked to her husband that her hope in Jesus was her only support in her great suffering. She put all confidence in Jesus' promise to save her and leaning on that promise as the pilgrim on his staff her gentle spirit took flight to the rest proposed for the people of God.
A sermon was preached and her funeral conducted by one of her former pastors, Rev. John M. White, now of Pawnee City, Nebraska, after which we laid her away at the Mt Carmel cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.
While the funeral services at her grave was being closed another funeralcortege was seen approaching, bearing the remains of Mary, the late wife of Thomas Owen, Esq. Who also died on March 30th 1891, being the day on which
she was thirty years old.
It was singular that both these good women who had received baptism at the hands of Rev. M. Howard on the same day, should also ascend to glory on the same day, their bodies being cared for and buried in the same cemetery
by the same congregation and minister at the same time.
Mrs. Owen was a good wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor. Her friends have great consolation in that, she was at peace with God and ready to meet Him at his coming. Their loss is her gain.
May the Lord heal the broken hearted in the sincere prayer of --- One who was there. Rev. John M. White.
