The birth dates came from 2 sources. One I have family bibles, and the other is the dates that are listed in the nivison or taylor(Hannah Taylor) file at the monmouth county historical society. I copied some of them from there. The John Nivison who sold property is also a puzzle to me. However, I believe that the other set went to Isle of Wright, around Norfolk va. During the civil war there were two separate Nivison's in NJ related as far as I can tell but one set left Monmouth after the civil war sometime. There was John Nivison Sr and his son John Nivison Jr. Then there was William Nivison and his son also called John Nivison Jr. All of these were in the rev war. John Nivison Jr who stayed in NJ had a son called William Tazwell Nivison. The John Nivison who went to Norfolk Va also had a son named William Tazwell Nivison..The Birth dates for all of these men are very close. John Nivison who was in Va was a Colonel in the military and attended William and Mary College and his name is on a listing at the college and was important in the college foundingof phi Beta
capa. I cannot confirm this but the info is interesting and there are no records proving that William Sr and his son John Jr stayed in the area. I have not done a lot of research in this area but it is very interesting. I am still trying to find out the maiden name of
William Tazwell Nivison dob 6-22-1785 married 5-10-1805 to Mary ? William died 1-17-1861. His wife was born 12-5-1784 and died 7-30-1848.After his wife died this William married Sarah Bennett who was the widow of ? I think I have it in my records somewhere. He had a step son living with him in some census who was born ca 1838 named John L Bennett. This William was a shoemaker. His father John was a Taylor.
