This is in reply to your questions concerning the family of John Nivison Sr and his sons. John Nivison sr born ca 1720 Scotland? died 5-16-1804 Middletown, NJ he was in Monmouth co prior to 1749 and he was a Taylor. He apparently married Hannah Beers. His children were John Jr dob 11-21-1756 md 2-1-1781 to Sarah Tyse dod 11-24-1795, 2. Hannah dob 1-21-1758 md 5-26-1778 to George taylor dod 8-15-1826,3. Eleanor dob 2-1762 md James Taylor dod 9/1818, 4. Nathaniel dob 2-8-1760 md Elizabeth Harvey dod 2-11-1806,5. William dob 1764 md Sarah Postey 7-28-1793 dod 1814, 6. James dob 1766? md Lucy Lawler. 7. Thomas dob 1768 md Pheobe Owen 3-26-1786 had a son David Owen Nivison 9. Mary ? md Jacob Janse 2-1-1778. John jr. fought in the rev war, his wife was Sarah Tyse they were married at the United Dutch church in Middletown, nj. It appears that they had 3 children Ann dob 8-22-1781 md William Van Cleaf 3-5-1799, John dob 12-8-1793 and William Tazewell dob 6-22-1785 md Mary? 5-10-1805 and second Sarah Bennett,dod 1-17-1861 It appears John and Ann may have died young.
