Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Malcolm 1715 Daniel 1742 Duncan ca 1744 .and down

Malcolm MacNiven lived Cargostan, Islay. Four sons, Daniel, Duncan, Archibald, Neil. Daniel MacNiven came to the US in 1765, his nephew Daniel Gosman MacNiven, son of Duncan, came to the US in 1791; both dropped the "mac" .

Bessie Campbell Niven b. 1872 collected information on the 12 children of Daniel and the 10 of Daniel Gosman and almost all of their descendants. I would also like to push the genealogy back beyond Malcolm and would like to find out what happened to Archibald and Neil. I'll be posting a lot of my material on the web shortly.

This branch lived mostly in New York and New Jersey, although some into PA and a couple westward.
