I have never heard of the Island Fuhr. The island I am speaking of is Fohr with the umlaut over the "o". It is one of 3 small islands off the coast of Schlewig-Holstein. Is this the island you are refering too as Fuhr? If so, my father Sophus Nissen was born there in a town called Middlum in 1941. He is one of 6 children. His mother was Sophia Knudsen. My Dad's father was born on the island right above Fohr called Sylt. Neither of my grandparents are living and only 4 of the 6 children I mentioned above are alive. I will gladly get you the names of my greatgrandparents tonight for you.
