Scottish Ancestry: RUTHERFORD/KIRKHOPE/STRANGEWAYS/NISBET – 1800’s Scotland/ Northumberland
George Rutherford and Jane Strangeways were married on 02nd December 1859 at St Andrews, Edinburgh. George’s parents were Thomas Rutherford(a butcher) and Ann (nee Kirkhope). Jane was the daughter of Christopher Strangeways and Mary (nee NISBET).
From the 1881 census, George was born in Chatton, Northumberland and had the family as follows:-

George Rutherford Age 42
Jane Age 40
William Age 16 (unemployed baker)
John Age 10
Edward Age 7
James Age 5
Georgina Age 11m.
Any information about any links to these people gratefully received. I was especially pleased to see a lot of Nisbets from the same general area as Rutherfords, hence chancing my arm in this forum.
