I am also looking for a John Nisbet. I have him born in Cessford, Roxburgshire, Scotland in 1809. He along with his father John b:abt. 1775 and mother Euphemia Porteous b: 1783 emigrated to Canada around 1822. John's brother William b:,1802, brother David b: 1806, sister Ann b:1811 and brother Robert b: 1816 emigrated to the U.S. around 1822. I show William and Ann in St. Lawrence Co., New York at this time. I can find nothing on John, his father and mother in the U.S., that is why I feel they settled in Canada. If you come across this John Nisbet, please let me know.
