I am a researcher with the Nesbitt/Nisbet Society specializing in the ancient families. After almost 10 years of research, one of which I spent in Ireland and Scotland, I have found no concrete link with John, the Martyr's line. There are several families who have tales of "my greatgrandmother remembers her grandmother saying that we were related to Murdock--or John, or James, his brother--, etc.
So, you are the first to say that you actually have documented proof. I would be extremely interested in "seeing" that information, particularly because I am giving a talk on that famous family at the annual Gathering being held next month in Kilmarnock.
I'll keep my fingers crossed while waiting to hear from you.
