Pat, Thanks for your posting and your email. I've notified the webmaster of the page http://www.mccabeclan.com/nisbet.htm of the existance of Richard NISBET. Given that both you and I had come to the conclusion that he was the father of Hugh NISBET, it makes it very likely (with the dates and location) that he is either a 'lost' son of Thomas NISBET and Margeret MORTON or the son of one of the other 4 brothers of Thomas- about who rather less is known. I need to pick through your email in some detail to make sure the dates match, but the overall pattern confirms my records and plugs a few gaps. Was ancestry.com your source for this research or was it from other places too? I'd not found any DOWNS until you sent that link through. I'll let you know how my research continues, but we could be related! At the least, your Christina/Christian almost certainly would have know my Richard- Old Monkland couldn't have been that populous. Thanks again, Richard Notify Administrator about this message?
