If the date of Britton's birth is correct, he wasn't born in either England or Scotland. I've just received a publicity photo of him, included in the 3rd impression of *Hunger and Love*. As Bernard Shaw said, he certainly appears 'wild', but I somehow think that the photo was taken during the, er, Great War. (He also appears to have had a wall eye.) Any ideas?
