Thank you so much. I agree that 1790 is a better date for John's birth. I have as children of Barnabus and Thankful: Levi b. 1764, Salmon b. 1767, Barnabus b. 4 Apr 1771, Amasa b. 1773, Jesse b. 12 Feb 1775, then John in 1790, so you are right. Unless he is a late birth, it makes more sense his parents are different.
