Hello! I am also looking for ancestors in Italy by the name of Nigra. I was born in Phila., Pa. and lived there most of my life. My parents are gone and I have just one aunt alive. She is not interested in tracing her roots so I have no help. My daughter is a history professor and her colleague wrote a book in which was mentioned Costatino Nigra. He was a diplomat to France and one of the people responsible for the unification of Italy. When I saw his name I became interested in tracing my family history. My grandfather was born in the USA about 1890. I believe his parents immigrated. He was an Episcopalian by religion and very faithful to his church which is no longer in existence so I am unable to find any info there. The church diocese will not help me. Hope you have better luck than I am.
