Thank you for trying to help Greg. Since last we spoke I find that there was an Silvester Eveleth living in White IL in 1830 where he purchased land. As the original Eveleth immigrant was Silvester Eveleth in the 1630's or so, have no doubt that this is one of ours as well.

I have looked very carefully at that Eber Rice there in VT in 1800 and he has been merged with my Ebenezer Rice. This Eber Rice was a cousin of course, but the Rev. WAr record in the book 'Let the Drums Roll" is not the record of my Ebenezer Rice, but indeed of this Eber Rice. But you know how hard it is to overturn the written word!

If you (or anyone reading this) ever comes across a Ruth Eveleth Rice probably called Henrietta or finds a record showing that Ruth Eveleth had a middle name Henrietta, I would be elated!

Regards,
Donna Crosby
