Mark, thanks for the info. I have ruled out George Nye (Nigh) as the father of my Mary Magdalena Nigh, because I have proven that my Mary Magdalena (Polly) Nigh was the daughter of John Nigh of Franklin County, PA. George Sr. lived in Hagerstown, MD and later moved to Fairfield County, OH and died there, as I recall. My problem is: There were two John Nighs living in Franklin County, PA during the 1700s, and I have not been able to prove which one was the father of my Mary "Polly" Magdalena Nigh. George Nigh did have a daughter Mary Magdalena, in fact he had two, one died as an infant I think, so he had another dau. & named her Mary Magdalena. But, like I said, I have ruled them out as the one I was hunting. Have been working on this for about 4-5 years or more, and I finally solved the puzzle for me about 6-7 months ago! John Nigh's dau. Mary Magdalena was my g.g.grandmother. There were a bunch of Nighs in PA during the 1700s, and many of them lived in other counties. I feel certain that my Nighs (Nyes, Neus, etc) were probably all related to the Nigh (Neu) from Hoffenheim, Baden, Germany. Any thoughts?
