Hi there,
based on what u wrote, I think the name is of Yoruba origin and should be Shomorin, based on my basic knowledge of the Yoruba alphabet (only have basic knowledge of Yoruba). I did a google search of Shomorin and sure enough its an actual last name. I checked facebook and there are 3 people with the last name Shomorin, maybe you can try contacting them and see if they happen to be related to your father. You can ask them if they have any female older aunts whose name is Bose for starters
