My name is Carlos Gilbeto Nieves, I was born in Llanadas, Isabela on 01/02/54.
My mother's maiden name is Josefa Altreche, of the Atreche-Ocasio family in Llanadas.
My father is Gilberto Nieves of the Nieves-Rivera family from Poncito, a small barrio up the road from Llanadas located in Isabela near Guajataca.
My Grandparents Juan Nieves and Barbara Rivera owned a bodega and farm in Poncito until 1954 when he left the island for NYC. He relocated all his 12 children with him. Their names are Santos, Millita, Gilberto, Angelo, Irene, Josefina, Ernestina, Aracelio, Luz, Ladis, Luis and Hiram.

We are a very tight knit family that still keeps in touch on a regular basis, this is primarily due to the fact that the cousins grew up together and most of us attended the same schools at the same times.

It contained over 280 members and of course has grown since then. I've tried to keep it updated and hope to be able to post it to the Internet in the coming year.
