According to my fathers older brother, my uncle and what he was told by his grandfather there was two families names "Nieves" that settle in Puerto Rico. One of the families settle in Ponce. The other settle in Isabela. What I do know is that my grandfater lived in Plana and that his brother families live in Planas #2. I still have many family members in Palnas. Also according to one of my older cousins our name came from Spain a section called(if I remember correctlly) "Sierra Nieve". I would guess that this is an area which contains snow.
