Sean......I live on a farm ...... that's why Im up early...lol. Nope....I am used to getting up early, this is the first winter in 26 years....NO COWS. I live in Missouri in the Ozarks...Central time. :)))

My son has been in the Army for 21 years...first active, then reserves then Nat'l Guard....he is a First Sargent...and lives up to the reputation. MY Children are Gregory's...everyone here has a different last name....oh oh. :))) Anyway...since swapping to the Guard, Mike has been to Bosnia, Kosovo, Korea and now YUMA....he lives in Arizona...he is guarding the airport.

My Niemi Grandfather married my Ikola Grandmother....she grew up on a farm in Cherry....and I know my Aunt Jule Ikola (?married names)...had a daughter Geraldine, and they lived in Buhl, and Ely and Eveleth.

Here is the 1910 and 20 census of the Ikola's .....

Info as follows:
John Ekola 36 married Emig. 1891 farmer. (now we spell it Ikola..misspelling im sure)

wife Mary-32- emig. 1893

Emil-13 Born Mass. worked on farm as laborer (oldest son...I thot he was FinnBorn)

Anna 12 Born in New Hampshire 1897!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(my grandmother Anna Elizabeth Niemi)

Julia-9 born in Montana
(another little girl Jenny here died as a toddler...not listed)
John E.? Jr.-7 born Mn (John the Uncle who lived in Eveleth..father of the hockey player And coach Willard from Edina Mn)

Walter W.-1 [so born 1909 in Mn]

1920-

Arthur
Wino? M (Wayne)
Aina? L (Aini)
Aived? E (Arvid)

......not showing is Donald....born in '20....so he didnt make the census.
1920's John and Mary Ikola lived in Cherry [township 57 range 19]There were 8 children listed but Anna was not as she was married by then. (to Matt E. Niemi)

I posted this just in case old stories bring up these folks....your Dad would have been a little kid tho when most of the Ikola's migrated to California....as I did.

I got this info from a sweet lady, on a message board..:)

Thanks Sean, Priscilla.
