searching for west coast niemi's

My name is Kristi Niemi-Williams. I am from Van Etten, New York, and there are quite a few Niemi's that reside in the surrounding areas, like Ithaca and Trumansburg NY. This area is well known for it's finnish heritage. I am searching for any relatives of my grandfather Arvo (archie) Niemi. He had two sons with Janie Stables who he also married. The sons names are Jack and Boyd Niemi. He also had another son who was much older named Dale Thomas Niemi, who died in 1990 near Las Angeles, CA. My grandmother and grandfather were seperated, but never divorced when my father (jack) was very young, probably about 5, so around 1955. From what I understand, he moved out to Florida, probably near Jacksonville, and then to the west coast and supposedly had more children. From what I understand he died in the in 1974 in or around Port Townsin, Washington. He body was sent back to Van Etten, NY and buried at Canfield Cemetary

My father's sister (from a different father) passed away last year, and his side of the family is so small, I'd really like to find information on his relatives. He said after his father left, his family was very secretive about the Niemi side of the family. I am very proud of my Finnish heritage, and I think it would be really great to find brothers or sisters that he may have not known he had. If anyone has any information on Arvo (Archie) Niemi, or relatives of him, please contact me. Respond here, or my e-mail is

Thank you!
