Hello again Patti: The interesting thing about the American History article is that the magazine editor, Ed Holm had written about his 100 year old mother Emma Jackson 'Niemela' Holm daughter of John and Sophia. Emma married Wendall Holm in 1918 during WWI and lived most of their lives in Astoria, Oregon. As you stated Astoria was full of Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish immigrants. This Johan Niemela could be a shirt-tail cousin somewhere down the line. You never know! Bye again. Eddie
