I would say that there could be a link between us as there are not very many Niehus familes in Australia I am in South Australia and the bulk of them originate from Here before that Germany in the mid 1830s when South Australia had an influs of German immigrants.
My Paternal Grandmother was born Julia Doreen Niehus in 1902 Her Father is buried in the West Terrace Cemetary in Adelaide. along with his wife and their granddaughter. Other Niehus families in South Australia are buriend in Centennial Park Cemetery in Adelaide. They have an online data base where you can check the names. There is also a couple of Niehus families in NSW if you want email me and I can send you some names that you might be able to link up with yours.
