From an old note written by my mother's brother, Robert Neibel, he listed Henry Niebel, b. 1849, d. 1922, Elmira Niebel, b. 1849, d. 1923, John Niebel, b. 1880, d. 1942. Because he had listed them with our Neibel/Niebel relatives, I'm led to believe that they are related, but can't find a connection.
Jacob Niebel, Anna Maria Niebel and Heinrich Niebel were the children of Johannes Niebel and Anna Catherine Vallentine. Jacob Niebel married Christina Early. They had six children: Margaret who married David Hetzel, John E. who married Rebecca Dubbs, Elizabeth who married Samuel Dubbs, Lucinda who married Henry Binkly, David B. who married Malinda Heineke and then after she died in 1864, he married Margaret Ann Pressler. There was also an unknown daughter. David B. and Margaret Neibel\Niebel were my maternal great grandparents. (I'm wondering whether maybe Henry Niebel was the son of David B. Niebel and Malinda Heineke. They had six children, but I have only been able to locate Sarah Niebel, born in 1857. David and Malinda were married in 1848.)
I found Henry Niebel on the 1880 Census for Miami, Montgomery, Ohio. Also listed were his wife, Elmira, and children: Nora, Charles and John. He stated that both of his parents were born in Ohio and Elmira was born in Pennsylvania. On the 1930 Census for Miami, Montgomery, Ohio I found Nora married to Robert I. Warrick, with her brother, John Niebel living with them.
The above ancestors started out in York County, Pennsylvania, moved to Rockingham County, Virginia and ended up in Montgomery County, Ohio.
I hope that someone can tie the family of Henry Niebel to my family. Thanks. My email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
