This is the info that I have posted in The Family von Nida book, third edition.
It is said that David was listed as Daniel on some records. Joseph Scott put up the surety when he married Nancy Scott. (1) They apparently were living with his father during the 1810 Botetourt County Census and had two sons born between 1800 and 1810, two daughters born between 1800 and 1810, and one daughter born between 1794 and 1800. It appears that David and family are not living with Johann David in 1815 as they are not listed on the tax rolls and the 1820 census does not list them. No further track of this family is known at this time. (2)
In the welfare records of Giles County, there is listed a Philip Niday, son of a David Niday. In 1817, David is given $40. "for keeping and supporting his son Philip the ensuing year. In 1818, David Niday is paid $50. " for keeping his helpless son for 1 year." In 1819, David Niday is given $60. "for keeping his helpless son 1 year. No further records are found regarding this Philip. While Jack E. Nida has noted that Philip was probably a son of Johann David, I have shown him as such and doubt that Philip was the son of this David due to the ages of them.

I hope this helps.
