Hello, Elsa.
I thought I had responded to your earlier posting, but apparently I did something incorrectly.
In any event, I am Vito Leonardo Nicotera, born in Mola di Bari, in the Puglie region, province of Bari, on the Adriatic coast in SOuthern Italy. My father, Cosimo Damiano Nicotera, migrated to the US in 1961. The rest of the family, five children, me included, and our mother, followed him in 1963.
On several occasions both my mother and father mentioned that there were Nicoteras that had migrated to France; however, I was too young to recall whether tehy mentioned the names of the people residing in France.
I did have an uncle, Paolo, my father's oldest brother, who migrated to America before my family; however, it was in the 20's.
I do think that we are related.
Let me know if you would like to exchange more information.
Best regards,
